The Colosseum or Roman Coliseum, originally the Flavian Amphitheatre (Latin: Amphitheatrum Flavium, Italian Anfiteatro Flavio or Colosseo), is an elliptical amphitheatre in the center of the city of Rome, Italy, the largest ever built in the Roman Empire. The very last time that I stood in this spot was August 1984, and although I have travelled extensively through Italy, it's 25 years since my time in Rome. This beautiful image makes me want to return. When I ventured inside, there were cats runing around and living wild, and I was so overwhelmed by the architecture and ghosts of days gone by. A wonderfuul shot
